BEIRUT, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Lebanese army on Wednesday received ammunitions from Turkey, the National News Agency reported.
The ammunitions were received during a reception held in presence of the Lebanese Army's Deputy Chief of Staff Ziad Nasr, representing Army Commander Joseph Aoun, as well as Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon Hakan Cakil.
Cakil stressed the importance of cooperation between the Lebanese and Turkish armies.
He also affirmed his country's commitment "to continuing providing military assistance to the Lebanese army."
Nasr said that the light and medium caliber ammunitions received from Turkey are important to enhance the capabilities of the Lebanese army, especially in terms of security operations, and constitute an essential part of the army's efforts to maintain stability, combat terrorism and counter external attacks.
