Silkworm industry brings fortune to farmers in east China

KAIHUA, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Silkworm farmers of Xidong Village have significantly improved profitability after cooperation with sericulture companies and scientific researchers began in 2018. By the end of 2020, the village's silk production is estimated to reach 22,500 kilograms, which could increase farmers' income by nearly a million yuan (about 150,000 U.S. dollars).
