SHENZHEN, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The southern Chinese metropolis of Shenzhen has 11 metro lines in operation with a total length of 411 km, after a new line and new sections of three existing lines started services on Wednesday.
The first stage of Metro Line 8 started initial operation in the city on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the third stage of Line 2, Line 3, and Line 4 also began operations.
So far this year, Shenzhen has opened six metro lines with a total length of 107 km, according to Shenzhen Metro Group Co., Ltd.
The city's metro operator also said it would start construction on five intercity railway lines within the year. Enditem
