BELGRADE, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Serbian parliament on Wednesday approved a new government headed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic with 227 votes for among the 250 MPs.
In her keynote speech earlier Wednesday, Brnabic said that the new government will have six priority goals including the further battle against the coronavirus.
She said that the government will be "pro-European," with the European integration process as one of its priorities, but will also "maintain ties with Russia, China, as well as other partners -- United Arab Emirates, India, Turkey, Brazil, as well as to build better ties with the United States," she said.
Brnabic also announced efforts towards bringing Serbia into the World Trade Organization (WTO), and reaffirmed the country's dedication towards regional cooperation.
Brnabic was nominated by President Aleksandar Vucic earlier this month to form a new government.
The coalition around the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) led by Vucic won 60.65 percent of votes in the country's June 21 parliamentary election.
