BEIJING, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Thursday called for solid efforts to study and promote the spirit of the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.
Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a teleconference in Beijing.
The four-day plenary session, which concluded on Thursday, adopted the Party leadership's proposals for formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035.
Huang underlined the need to pool strengths for achieving the goals set for the 14th Five-Year Plan period and embarking on a new journey.
The plenary session is very important given that a victory is in sight in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and that the country is set to embark on a new journey to fully build a modern socialist country, Huang said.
The proposals adopted at the session specify the guiding principles, goals, tasks, strategies, and measures for the country's development for the foreseeable future, he said.
He called on the publicity and theoretical front to take prompt action to encourage officials and the people to forge ahead with focus and confidence. Enditem
