ZHUJI, China, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Guard Xirelijiang saved the Nanjing Monkey Kings with a game-winning layup, with 0.8 seconds to go in a tight 111-110 victory over the Guangzhou Loong Lions in the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Sunday.
Nanjing had six players score in double digits. Arnett Moultrie contributed a team-best 21 points. Xirelijiang scored 18 points, with five rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Wan Shengwei added 17 points.
The Loong Lions' Dallas Moore scored a game-high 30 points and dished out nine assists. Chen Yingjun, the No.1 overall pick in 2017, had 22 points and five rebounds.
The Loong Lions grabbed a 15-8 lead after the tip-off and raced ahead 26-21 by the end of the first quarter. Nanjing found their rhythm on offense and ended the half leading 55-50.
The Loong Lions took back the lead with a 13-3 run in the third quarter and the game became tense in the final quarter. Xirelijiang's buzzer-beater to end the game guided Nanjing to a well-fought victory. Enditem
