SUZHOU, China, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chongqing Lifan beat Shanghai Shenhua in penalty shoot-out in the Chinese Super League (CSL) here on Sunday.

A pair in three minutes from Marcelo Cirino gifted Chongqing a 2-0 lead in the regular time. Shanghai won the first-leg tie 3-1 and the match went into overtime as the two sides were leveled 3-3 on aggregate.

After a goalless overtime, Miler Bolanos's volley in the 10th round flew over the cross bar to make Chongqing seal the victory.

In the 41st minute, receiving Qian Jiegei's long range pass from the right flank into the box, Bi Jinhao converted a header but was denied by the goalkeeper. Shenhua midfielder Peng Xinli contributed a tip-in, but the goal was ruled out for Bi's offside.

Before the end of the first half, Chongqing midfielder Chen Jie was shown a yellow card for his studs-up challenge on Cameroonian midfielder Stephane M'Bia when striving for the ball.

Another accident happened in the 53rd minute that Bi got his leg injured after jumping for a header and was later replaced by his teammate Yang Xu.

Chongqing broke the deadlock nine minutes later when Alan Kardec's direct cross outside the box gifted Marcelo Cirino a close-range tap-in.

Kardec demonstrated his prowess again just after three minutes with a comfortable diagonal volley.

Chongqing will battle against Shandong Luneng for the 5th place of the league.
