THIMPHU, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- A 31-year-old woman gave birth to triplet boys through "in vitro fertilization" (IVF) Saturday in Bhutan, announced the Health Minister.
This was the first ever success "in vitro fertilization" story of triplets born in the country, stated Health Minister Dechen Wangmo, sharing the news to the public on Saturday.
The minister met with the couple and newly born triplet babies at Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospitals.
The National Referral Hospital in Thimphu opened its first fertility clinic in August 2016 to help couples who want to become parents but cannot for medical reasons to get treatment within Bhutan. The clinic has since then helped many couples conceive and become parents. Enditem
