HANOI, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Do Thi Ha, a 20-year-old university student from central Vietnam's province of Thanh Hoa, was crowned Miss Vietnam 2020 after topping the Vietnamese beauty contest on Friday.
A student of Vietnam's National Economics University in Vietnamese capital Hanoi, the 1.75-meter-tall girl outperformed 34 other contestants at the pageant's final round held in southern Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City on Friday night.
As Miss Vietnam 2020, she won a cash prize of 350 million Vietnamese dong (around 15,200 U.S. dollars) and a crown among others.
The first runner-up is Pham Ngoc Phuong Anh, a 22-year-old university student in Ho Chi Minh City.
The second runner-up is Nguyen Le Ngoc Thao, 20, who was among the top five of the contest's Miss Fashion and Miss Beach sections.
At the final, 35 contestants partook in performances in ao dai (a Vietnamese traditional costume), swimsuits, evening gowns and a Q&A round.
Miss Vietnam has been held biennially since 1988 by Vietnamese daily newspaper Tien Phong (Pioneer), promoting beauty, knowledge and kindness. After 32 years with 16 editions, Miss Vietnam has emerged as the country's most prestigious national beauty contest. Enditem
