BISHKEK, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan registered on Friday 440 new COVID-19 cases, pushing its total caseload to 74,373.
Among the new cases, 109 were in the capital city Bishkek, 162 in Chui Oblast, and the rest were detected in other regions, according to the latest report of the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19.
The number of recoveries in Kyrgyzstan increased to 66,113 after 524 more were added in the last 24 hours, while the death toll reached 1,285 with four new ones.
A total of 2,635 patients are being treated in hospitals, 120 of whom in intensive care, while 3,528 are receiving treatment at home.
Since the first COVID-19 case was reported in Kyrgyzstan on March 18, the country's authorities have taken precautionary measures against the pandemic by closing the country's borders, shutting down schools and entertainment centers, banning public gatherings, and imposing a curfew for one month and a half.
The Central Asian country declared an emergency on March 22. The country started easing restrictions on May 11 to resume economic activities.
Bishkek still remains the most affected area in the country with 24,720 cases. Mobile teams will start checking business entities in the capital Friday to make sure they comply with sanitary rules to build a safe work. Enditem
