RIYADH, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- The internationally-recognized Yemeni government and the southern separatists have agreed to form a new government soon and fully implement the Riyadh Agreement, the Saudi-led coalition said on Thursday.
An official from the coalition said the two sides agreed to form a government with 24 ministers, including ministers from the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and other Yemeni political figures, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The coalition also said all military and security plans have been completed, which clears the obstacles to the formation of a joint government.
Brokered by Saudi Arabia, the Riyadh Agreement was signed in November 2019 between the Yemeni elected government and the STC.
The deal stipulates the unification of the two sides' military forces under one authority and the formation of a joint government to equally share powers. Enditem
