CHANGSHA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese official has called for promoting the Yan'an spirit in the new era and better works on studying, researching and implementing this spirit.
Wang Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and head of the China Yan'an Spirit Research Society, made the remarks on Saturday at a symposium held by the research society in Shaoshan, central China's Hunan Province.
Wang stressed the importance of the Yan'an spirit, calling for its continuation as China's development environment is going through profound and complex changes, and the country is facing unprecedented risks and challenges.
He urged members of the research society to explore and use the rich implications and historical resources of the spirit, and further improve the capability of promoting it with innovative methods. Enditem
