BISHKEK, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan has increased fines for illegal hunting of wild animals listed in the country's Red Book, the government press service said Thursday.

The order, signed by acting Prime Minister Artem Novikov, aims to ensure the conservation of biological diversity, ban illegal use of wildlife, and strengthen environmental protection and nature management legislation.

The new measure takes into account the value of wild animals and plants species, their conservation endemicity status, and rates of payment for the special use of flora and fauna objects.

The fines for illegal hunting or killing of relevant wild animals will be two to ten times their respective market value. Enditem
