VIENTIANE -- The Vientiane-Vangvieng section of the China-Laos expressway, the first highway in Laos jointly constructed by the Lao government and China's Yunnan Construction and Investment Holding Group, was inaugurated on Sunday.
The opening ceremony was held simultaneously in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, and Kunming of southwest China's Yunnan Province, via video conferencing. (Laos-China-Expressway)

KATHMANDU -- Amid increasing internal feud within the ruling party, Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday recommended dissolution of the federal parliament to President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

PHNOM PENH -- The Cambodian government on Sunday asked local authorities to strengthen safety measures along the border after neighboring Thailand reported more than 500 cases of COVID-19 in its Samut Sakhon province.

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles County, the most populous county in the United States, on Friday hit a grim milestone of 600,000 confirmed cases in total.
