BEIJING, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- U.S. TV drama "The Queen's Gambit" topped the list of highest-rated new English TV series for 2020 compiled by Chinese review platform Douban.
It follows a young girl in a 1950s orphanage who reveals an astonishing talent for chess and begins an unlikely journey to stardom while grappling with addiction.
"The Queen's Gambit" boasts a rating of 9.0 out of 10 based on more than 210,000 reviews on Douban.
It was followed on the list by Britain's Channel 5 original drama "All Creatures Great and Small" and Irish romance "Normal People."
U.S. biographical drama "Mrs. America" and British comedy "Staged" ranked fourth and fifth.
Also on the list was Amazon's new sci-fi series "Tales From the Loop," which revolves around the people who live above the Loop, a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe, and experience things previously consigned to the realm of science fiction. Enditem
