Shanghai gold futures close higher

SHANGHAI, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed higher Monday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active gold contract for February 2021 delivery was up 4.72 yuan (about 72 U.S. cents) to close at 398.36 yuan a gram.

The total trading volume for eight listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 229,731 lots, with a turnover of about 91.2 billion yuan.
