Kyrgyzstan's COVID-19 cases surpass 80,000 mark

BISHKEK, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- The total number of COVID-19 cases in Kyrgyzstan rose to 80,025 on Friday, after an overnight registration of 180 cases.

The country's headquarters for combating COVID-19 said that 4,092 medical workers contracted the virus with 3,865 of them having recovered.

It also said that the virus-related deaths remained at 1,340. With 307 recoveries reported over the past day, the national count amounted to 74,177.

Currently, 1,358 patients with COVID-19 are being treated in hospitals, including 67 in intensive care units, according to the headquarters.

The Kyrgyz health authorities has suspended admission of patients into the Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital due to the decrease in the number of patients with COVID-19, according to the country's Health Ministry. Enditem
