A card to replace smartphones for digital payments is being trialed in China's Shanghai, making life easier for groups such as the elderly. Shanghai's Tongren Hospital is one of the first to try out the card released by the Postal Savings Bank of China (PSBC). Medical staff can pay for food in the hospital canteen with the card. An updated version of the card will be introduced into the hospital soon, which will allow for the payment of diagnosis and treatment, as well as parking fees.
