TASHKENT, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- An explosion in an Uzbek thermal power plant has killed three people and injured three others, the Uzbek Emergency Situations Ministry said Wednesday.
At the Novo-Angren thermal power located in eastern Angren town of the Tashkent region, a mixture of coal dust and air caused an explosion, and all victims were workers of the plant who were carrying out routine maintenance work, it said.
The ministry added that the incident which took place at around 11:42 a.m. local time (0642 GMT) did not cause damage to the infrastructure and technological equipment of the power plant.
A further investigation into the causes and conditions of the explosion was still ongoing. Enditem
