ZHUJI, China, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Despite being down 10 points after the third quarter, the Qingdao Eagles managed to come back against the Shandong Heroes 117-112 in the 36th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Saturday.
Shandong established a 35-26 lead in the first quarter, as Wang Ruheng and Gao Shiyan combined for 17 points.
Although Darius Adams contributed 15 points in the third quarter, Shandong still led 93-83, with six players in double-digit points.
After Adams scored five points in a row in the last quarter, Qingdao tied the game 99-99. Wang Qingming buried two three-pointers to help Qingdao turn the table, and Adams stayed solid from the free-throw line to nail the victory for the Eagles.
Adams finished with 35 points and eight rebounds, Lin Weihan got 20 points, and Liu Chuanxing took 18 points and 14 rebounds.
For Shandong, Tao Hanlin collected a team-high 23 points, Lester Hudson contributed 19 points, and Gao added 15 points and six assists.
"Although we fell behind for three quarters, our players didn't give up. They applied different defense systems and went all out to take rebounds in the fourth quarter, and finally they made it," said Wu Qinglong, coach of Qingdao.
