Kelyang (C) and her family watch the Spring Festival gala on television at home in Shannan of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, Feb. 11, 2021. Feb. 12 marks the first day of the Tibetan New Year, which coincided with the Spring Festival this year. Early in the morning, Kelyang, 23, put on traditional Tibetan costumes and joined her parents to walk around mountains for prayer. As a postgraduate student of Beijing Normal University majored in modern and contemporary Chinese literature, Kelyang likes rap music, watching videos online and writing novels. She lives an ordinary life like all her peers around the country. Twelve years ago when she was admitted to a class for Tibetan students, Kelyang told herself that she would return to her hometown after graduation and be a teacher like her father. The girl has never changed her goal and dream. On the first day of the Tibetan New Year, she made a wish, hoping to successfully complete her studies and return to hometown to help children there better learn and understand literature of their mother country.
