DAMASCUS, March 1 (Xinhua) -- In appearance, it is one of the "ugliest" animals living on earth, but in essence, it is a good producer of goat milk and meat popular among Syrian farmers.
Called "Damascus goat," this special breed of goat has been a highly-recommended farm animal by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Many farmers in the countryside of Syrian capital Damascus revived raising the weird-looking goats to make a living as peace has returned after years of war and violence in Syria.
