ZHUJI, China, March 26 (Xinhua) -- With the rising star Zhang Zhenlin scoring 21 points, the Liaoning Flying Leopards swept the Jilin Northeast Tigers 100-83 for the third time in the 2020-21 regular season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Friday.
Leading with 21-18 in the first quarter, Liaoning launched a 12-0 run in the following period to expand the difference to 15 points, while Jilin's core player Dominique Jones only hit one out of 12 attempts in the first half.
After Zhang, the newly crowned Slam Dunk champion in the CBA All-star Weekend grabbed more points in a row of dunks, the Flying Leopards extended the advantage to as many as 26 points in the last period, nailing their third win.
Besides Zhang, O.J. Mayo also contributed 21 points for Liaoning, Zhao Jiwei earned 11 points and five assists, and Wu Changze added 10 points.
For Jilin side, Liu Tianyi came off the bench to bag a team-high 12 points, and Jiang Yuxing, Jiang Weize and Zhang Biao took 10 points each.
