LHASA, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Tseten Lhamo, born in 1945, worked as a serf before the democratic reform in Tibet in 1959, which abolished its feudal serfdom under theocracy.

"The lives of our serfs are bitter than bitter herbs," Tseten Lhamo recalled her life in the old time.

After the democratic reform, beneficial changes have taken place. Tseten Lhamo now lives in a big house with yaks and goats.
