BEIJING, May 8 (Xinhua) -- It's been 22 years since the U.S.-led NATO forces carried out a barbaric missile attack on the former Chinese embassy in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999, which left three journalists dead, more than 20 people injured, and the embassy building severely damaged.
Shao Yunhuan, a Xinhua journalist, and Xu Xinghu and his wife Zhu Ying of the Guangming Daily newspaper, were killed during the attack.
We will never forget our colleague Shao Yunhuan. On this special day, we will mourn her with deep grief, learn from her bravery as a war correspondent, and pass on the professional spirit she had displayed in conducting in-depth on-site interviews in spite of various dangers and difficulties.
Officials from the Serbian government and the Chinese embassy commemorated the deaths of the three Chinese journalists during a wreath-laying ceremony on Friday.
