NANNING, May 14 (Xinhua) -- South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region launched a new cross-border multimodal transport service connecting China with Vietnam and Laos. Its first freight train loaded with agricultural materials set off for Vietnam on Thursday at the International Railway Port of Nanning, capital of the Region.
After leaving Nanning, the train loaded with 13 carriages of compound fertilizers will pass through Pingxiang railway port and enter Vietnam after paperless customs clearance. The goods will then continue their journey from Vietnam to Laos by highway.
This China-Vietnam-Laos cross-border multimodal transport service for agricultural materials has a total journey of about 1,300 kilometers and is expected to run for four days.
