GAZA, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Five Palestinians, including a local journalist, were killed on Wednesday in a fresh round of Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip that have been going on for 10 days, medics said.
The killed journalist was identified as Yousef Abu Hussein who works for al-Aqsa Radio, the Gaza-based radio station run by Hamas. Israeli fighter jets directly struck an apartment in northern Gaza city and killed him.

Eyewitnesses and security sources said one woman was killed during an airstrike on an apartment in the Remal neighborhood in western Gaza city, adding eight others were injured in separate airstrikes in Gaza.
Israeli fighter jets and artillery carried out dozens of strikes on buildings, apartments and roads all over the Gaza Strip overnight and on Wednesday morning, according to eyewitnesses.
