COTONOU, May 23 (Xinhua) -- 21-year-old cyclist Paul Daumont from Burkina Faso won the final stage and took the overall title at Benin's 16th International Cycling Tour that finished on Saturday in Cotonou, the Beninese Cycling Federation (FBC) reported.
Daumont covered the six-stage, 1,80 km competition in 16 hours, one minute and 56 seconds.
His compatriot Souleymane Kone came second, finishing in 16:06:33, followed by fellow Burkina Faso rider Ilboudo Harouna in 16:06:58.
On Saturday, Paul Daumont won the 101km criterium, the sixth and last stage of the competition in Cotonou, in 2:33:19. Earlier, he took the lead and gained the yellow jersey by winning the first three stages of the competition.
Riders from Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, Niger, Burkina Faso and Benin took place in the competition, which opened on May 17. Enditem
