VIENTIANE, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Laos recorded a trade deficit of 64 million U.S. dollars in April, according to the latest information from the Lao Trade portal website.
Laos' exports in April totaled 427 million U.S. dollars and imports totaled 491 million U.S. dollars, according to the report.
The country's major exports included copper ore, banana, gold bars, cassava, clothing, coffee, sugars, rubber, along with pulpwood.
The major imports included land vehicles excluding motorcycles, electrical equipment and appliances, steel and steel products, diesel, vehicle spare parts as well as fertilizers.
China remained the top exports destination for Laos, followed by Vietnam and Thailand, while the major source countries for Laos' imports were Thailand, China and Vietnam, according to the report.
The trade figures did not include earnings from the export of electricity. Enditem
