BEIJING, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi on Wednesday called on Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states to strengthen strategic communication and further consolidate the consensus on building a security community.
Zhao made the remarks when attending the 16th Meeting of the Security Council Secretaries of the SCO Member States in Beijing via video link.
Zhao called on all parties to coordinate positions on Afghanistan, promote the orderly withdrawal of foreign military forces from Afghanistan in a responsible manner, support all parties in Afghanistan to reach a political arrangement acceptable to all sides under the "Afghan-led and Afghan-owned" framework, and jointly push forward the reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
All parties should oppose unilateralism, resist external interference, safeguard the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order based on international law, and jointly maintain harmony and tranquility in the region, he said.
Zhao called on all parties to combat transnational crime, strengthen practical cooperation in combating the "three forces," drug production and trafficking, telecommunications and internet fraud, cross-border gambling and epidemic related crimes, and jointly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the people of all countries.
He also called on all parties to strengthen information protection, maintain data security, and actively build a community of shared future in cyberspace that is peaceful, secure, open, cooperative and orderly. Enditem
