Brazil's Queiroz wins men's canoe single 1,000m at Tokyo Olympics

TOKYO, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Isaquias Queiroz dos Santos of Brazil won the men's canoe single 1,000m gold at the Tokyo Olympics here on Saturday.

Queiroz crossed the line first in four minutes and 04.408 seconds for his first gold and fourth Olympic medal after two silver medals from Rio 2016 and one bronze from London 2012.

China's Liu Hao, who won a silver in men's canoe double 1,000m on Tuesday, added another silver to his collection with a time of 4:05.724.

The bronze medal went to Serghei Tarnovschi, finishing in 4:06.069, edged Adrien Bart of France by 0.102 seconds for the first medal for Moldova at Tokyo 2020.

Liu's pair in the double Zheng Pengfei finished eighth. Enditem
