SANAA, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Many Yemeni farmers, who cannot afford to buy agricultural machinery, still use the primitive methods of farming to cultivate and sow their land.

The food crisis in the war-torn country is partly caused by the low productivity in its agricultural sector. Moreover, the skyrocketing prices of gas and diesel due to the devaluation of local currency and import bans have made the situation worse.
