KUWAIT CITY, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait will cover the expense for treatment of the burn victims from a fuel tanker explosion in Lebanon, Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) said Monday.
In a press statement, KRCS said that Musaed Al-Enezi, head of the KRCS mission in Lebanon, has visited injured Lebanese at a hospital, noting that the society responded to humanitarian call to contribute to the treatment of the injured in light of the high costs and the critical economic and health situations in Lebanon.
Kuwait will not hesitate to intervene quickly in emergencies, the statement said, adding that KRCS is carrying out this humanitarian initiative in coordination with the Kuwaiti embassy in Lebanon and the Lebanese Red Cross.
Meanwhile, Kuwait has announced sending a plane to transport a number of the burn victims to treat them at its expense in the country.
At least 28 people were killed and 79 others were injured on Sunday in a fuel tank explosion in the town of Tleil in the Lebanese northern district of Akkar. Enditem
