Head-on bus crash in NW Bangladesh leaves 13 dead

DHAKA, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- A head-on collision between a passenger bus and a hauler in Bangladesh's northwest Natore district on Saturday left at least 13 people dead and two others injured, a police official said.

Nazrul Islam Jewel, officer-in-charge of Natroe's Lalpur Police Station, told Xinhua, "Thirteen passengers were killed on the spot in the head-on collision between the bus and the hauler."

The road accident, which occurred at around 4:20 p.m. local time, also left two passengers critically injured, he said.

The injured passengers were rushed to a local hospital, he said, adding that the crash was under investigation.
