Malacca city, located along the Strait of Malacca, used to be an important trade hub and a knot for cultural exchanges between the East and West. Chinese great navigator Zheng He (1371-1433) and his fleet had visited Malacca five times in his seven voyages. In 2008, Malacca was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
