TALUQAN, Afghanistan, March 31 (Xinhua) -- A top religious scholar has been killed in a bomb blast that shocked Taluqan city, the capital of northern Takhar province on Wednesday, provincial police spokesman Abdul Khalil Asir said.
"A bomb blast targeted the vehicle of Mawlawi Abdul Samad Mohammadi the chief of religious scholars of Takhar province in Taluqan city minutes ago, killing him on the spot and injuring three others," Asir told Xinhua.
Describing the incident as targeted attack, the official said that investigation had been initiated into the blast. Enditem
