YANGON, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar reported 13 new COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, according to a statement from the Health and Sports Ministry on Friday.
The number of COVID-19 cases rose to 142,479 while the death toll was recorded at 3,206 on Friday, the statement said.
A total of 131,810 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals so far.
A total of 998 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, down from around 10,000 samples tested daily in early February.
Myanmar detected the first COVID-19 cases in the country on March 23 last year. Enditem
