JAKARTA, April 21 (Xinhua) -- The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 5,720 within one day to 1,620,569, with the death toll adding by 230 to 44,007, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, 7,314 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 1,475,456.
The virus has spread to all the country's 34 provinces.
Specifically, within the past 24 hours, West Java recorded 1,004 new cases, Central Java 673, Jakarta 602, West Sumatra 514 and Riau 460.
No new positive cases were found in Gorontalo province. Enditem
