KABUL, June 1 (Xinhua) -- A bus was hit by a roadside bomb in the western part of Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, on Tuesday, and the casualties were still unknown, the capital police confirmed.
"A roadside bomb went off when a bus carrying people was passing Masjed-e-Halebid area in Police District 3 roughly at 7:30 p.m. (local time). There is fear of possible causalities," Kabul police spokesman Ferdaus Faramarz told Xinhua.
Local residents said rescue teams, police and security forces rushed to the site shortly after the blast.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Over the past years, the capital city was hit by series of terror attacks staged by Taliban insurgents and militants of the Islamic State (IS) group opposing the government. Enditem
