ULAN BATOR, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- A total of 1,600 military personnel, including 592 Russian troops, are participating in the Mongolia-Russia joint tactical drill "Selenge-2021," the Mongolian Armed Forces (MAF) said Tuesday.
This year's edition of the annual military exercise is underway at a training ground in the central Mongolian province of Tuv under the theme "Preparing and organizing counter-terrorism operations."
The participants "are strictly following all health protocols to prevent the COVID-19 infections," the MAF said in a statement.
The joint military exercise, which began on Sept. 22, is expected to last until Oct. 5.
The military drill has been alternately organized by the two countries annually since 2008. Enditem
