KHOST, Afghanistan, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- One person has been confirmed dead and 17 others were injured as an explosive device went off in a religious school in Khost city, capital of eastern Khost province on Wednesday, a provincial official said Thursday.
The official, Mawlawi Mohammad Sabir Sabari, said the blast took place in Mazharul Alum Madrasa (Mazharul Alum religious school) late Wednesday, leaving one learner dead and injuring 17 others.
He said that a student was busy in dismantling a mine when the device exploded and inflicted the casualties, adding that the injured were in stable condition. Enditem
