BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- "Xi Jinping's report to the 19th CPC National Congress has a lofty vision and global significance, " said Chen Xulong, Director of Department for International and Strategic Studies at China Institute of International Studies.
Chen said this during a recent interview with Xinhuanet.
He stressed that the part on China's diplomacy is full of brilliant new ideas.
The report highly praised the achievements made in China's major-country diplomacy since the 18th CPC National Congress and systematically put forward the principles and policies of China's diplomacy over the next five years and beyond, Chen said.
The report explicitly stated that major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics means forging a new form of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness, justice, and win-win cooperation and working to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
This is the biggest highlight of the part concerning China's diplomacy, Chen held.
"Forging a new form of international relations will clear out the obstacles and chart the course for building a community with a shared future for mankind; and building a community with a shared future for mankind in turn will point out the right direction and provide strong momentum for forging a new form of international relations,” Chen explained.
Also, the report mentioned that "no matter what stage of development it reaches, China will never seek hegemony or engage in expansion."
“It is China’s solemn promise and enriches the connotation of our independent foreign policy of peace,” Chen said.
The report is bound to set the direction for China's future diplomatic practice, Chen concluded.
