The First SEZ - Shenzhen SEZ

The first Special Economic Zone in China is Shenzhen Economic Special Zone.

The Largest Nuclear Power Station - Daya Bay Power Station

The largest power station in the city is Daya Bay Power Station of Guangdong Province,Daya Bay Nuclear Power Stationwhich is located by Daya Bay in the east of Shenzhen. This power station was jointly established by Guangdong Electricity Company (Head Office) and Hong Kong China Light & Power Co. Ltd. with total investment of US$ 4.1 billion, which is equipped with two sets of nuclear generating unit with capacity of 900,000 KW each. It was built and put into operation in 1994 and the electricity generated in 1995 was 11 billion KWH.

The Highest Building - Regency(Diwang) Tower

At present, the highest skyscraper in our country is Diwang Building, Regency Towerwhich is located at the junction of Shennan Road, Jiefang Raod and Baoan Raod in Ruohu district. The building covers an area of 18,734 square meters and an architectural area of 266,784 square meters with 68 floors and a height of 384 meters. It was built in June 1996, becoming a building representing Shenzhen. Diwang Building ranked 5th in the world and 2nd in Asia among the highest skyscrapers that have been built.

The Largest Port - Shenzhen Port

The biggest entry and exit port in the country is Shenzhen Port that has 12 first-class ports and 5 second-class ports. Huanggang PortA port operation system integrating transportation by land, sea and air has been formed. The number of tourists and persons that leave or enter the country through Shenzhen Port exceeds 50 million each year, accounting for more than 51% of the total number of the persons that leave or enter the country through all ports; the number of vehicles that leave or enter the country reaches 7.4 million each year, accounting for 76% of the total number of vehicles that leave or enter the country through all ports; the amount of imported and exported goods through Shenzhen Port reaches 38 million tons, accounting for 11% of the total amount of such goods of the whole country. The above figures all rank first in the whole country.

The First Wildlife Park

The first wild life park is Shenzhen Wildlife Park (Safari Park).
