Dagukou Fort

Dagukou Fort is in the Tanggu District 60 kilometers southeast of Tianjin, where Haihe River joins the Bohai Bay. It is the ¡°sea gate and ancient fortress¡±, the gateway to Beijing and Tianjin, and therefore a strategic place in ocean defense. It was set up in the later Ming Dynasty. Dagukou now has three fort relics which are named as ¡°wei¡±, ¡°Zhen¡± and ¡°Hai¡±. It is an important witness of modern China¡¯s fight against invasion. It is a specially protected cultural relic of China.

Haihe River

Haihe River flows through downtown Tianjin, with a total length of 75km. Haihe Park is by the riverside. There are amusement square, Haihe Palace, Haihe Boat Restaurant, sculptures, and various yachts for tourists. It is now a unique sightseeing route of the city.
